I am currently an active duty soldier, married to a wonderful woman with two lovely girls.  We decided over a year ago to purchase our first home, however with the constant moves of the military family it was a difficult decision to make.  After a lot of thought and searching we decided to go ahead and take that step.  It has been an extraordinary journey which has led us to a wonderful home where we could raise our two girls.  Not being familiar with the real estate market, having lived in apts my entire career, VAMC was a big help giving us step by step instruction and assistance.  This inevitably made the home buying experience less stressful.  We have lived in our new home for almost two weeks now and have been loving it.  Three days ago we had a horrendous wind storm which caused no damage to the home however torn down part of our back fence.  I have spent the last two days repairing it.  My mother-in-law remarked, “welcome to the life of a home owner”.  All in all though we are extremely happy with the service received from VAMC and our new home purchase.
